School Supplies 2008-09

The following are some guidelines for supplies. A detailed supply list for your class will be available in September. For now the following are generally useful for most students.

• HB pencils
• Pencil Case
• Coloured pencils
• Pencil sharpener (enclosed container)
• Red, blue & black pens
• Several erasers
• Highlighters
• Scissors
• Fine line markers (pkg of 8)
• Bottle of white glue
• Several glue sticks
• Metric ruler
• Large package of lined 3 hold paper
• Calculator
• Box of Kleenex
• Duotangs (5) different colours
• English dictionary
• French-English dictionary (Collins Robert of Larousse)
• Thesaurus (Gr. 7 & 8)
• Geometry set (Gr. 7 & 8)
• School Bag
• Indoor gym shoes

It may be necessary for parents to replace some supplies throughout the school year as needed.

Student agendas have been ordered for all students. They will be handed out in September. Cost is shared by School Council, the Board and Parents, each contributing $2.00 to the cost.

Students, parents, and teachers have found the agenda to be an excellent tool to assist students with organizational skills and for home and school communications.

Please remember that when selecting a backpack ensure it has plenty of support and that it has padding where needed. We also need to remind our students about not overloading the backpack and leaving things at school or at home as necessary.

Finally, packing extra socks or a change of clothing in the event of a mishap is also appreciated and can save you a trip to school should your child fall into a puddle or get dirty.
